Water Flow Monitoring and Metering

Summary

Citritek provide a range of Lorawan flow meters using mechanical, ultrasonic or infrared systems to monitor water systems that encompasses a full sphere of applications with all the data transferred remotely to our online portal.

Problem

Temperature tells you part of the story. Flow tells you the rest. A tap might show a compliant temperature when checked, but if water has been sitting stagnant in a dead leg for days, the microbiological risk is still there. Equally, flushing regimes are only effective if they are actually completed. Without flow data, estates teams are relying on signed-off paper logs that may not reflect what actually happened.

Solution

Citritek deploys non-invasive ultrasonic flow sensors and pulse-output meters at strategic points in the water system. These track usage volume and flow events, feeding data back to the platform alongside temperature readings. The system can identify outlets with low or no usage, verify that programmed or manual flushing has taken place, and flag unexpected usage patterns that might indicate a leak or system fault.

Key Features

Usage
pattern analysis

Identify which outlets are used regularly and which are at risk of stagnation.

Flushing
verification

Confirm that flushing regimes are being completed as required.

Combined temperature and flow view

Correlate flow events with temperature data for a complete risk picture.

Leak and anomaly detection

Spot unexpected flow events that may indicate system faults.

Non-invasive
options

Ultrasonic sensors that clamp onto existing pipework without cutting in.
